Welcome to Shelflife
Shelflife helps you prevent stockouts by forecasting when your Shopify products will run out of stock and alerting you before it happens.
Initial Setup
After installing Shelflife from the Shopify App Store, you'll see a Get Started screen. Click the button to begin syncing your inventory data from Shopify.
The initial sync pulls your products, variants, inventory levels, and recent order history. You'll see a progress bar while this happens. Depending on the size of your store, this can take a few minutes.
You can safely leave the page during sync — it continues in the background. When you return, you'll pick up right where it left off.
Once the sync is complete, you'll be automatically taken to the Inventory Dashboard, where you can see all your products with forecasted stock levels.
What happens during sync?
- Your product catalog and variants are imported
- Current inventory levels across all locations are recorded
- Recent order history is analyzed to calculate sales velocity
- Forecasts are generated for each variant using our forecasting algorithm
Ongoing syncs
After the initial setup, Shelflife automatically syncs your inventory every 12 hours. On the Growth plan, you can also trigger a manual sync at any time (with a 30-minute cooldown between syncs).
